A Space to Place: Light and Shadows
“ Deep shadows and darkness are essential, because they dim the sharpness of vision, make depth and distance ambiguous, and invite unconscious peripheral vision and tactile fantasy.” (Pallasmaa, J. 2005). Shadows can be either temporary or permanent. Temporary shadows are created by random people walking in the alley, and the flying seagulls, Whereas permanent shadows are created by the leaves of the ivy, by sunlight light or at night by the light of or when we point out the torch on purpose to enjoy the reflection and see how things are in the shadow. 2014
